English Language Teaching David and Tammy Heathfield each have nearly twenty years experience teaching English to speakers of other languages and we each hold the RSA/Cambridge Diploma in English Language Teaching. We provide intensive individual homestay courses in our warm and friendly family home combining expert English tuition with a full-immersion experience of British culture in the historic university city of Exeter in the beautiful South West of England. We personally meet you from Exeter Bus Station, Exeter Railway Station or Exeter International Airport. A meeting service at London Heathrow Airport can be arranged at an extra charge. Sang-Deok from Korea with David in the garden Together with you we work out how you learn best and plan what you are going to study. We enjoy fitting a course to your individual needs. We welcome adult students and teenage students from age 14. We are highly experienced in the fields of General English, Business English, English for Specific Purposes, English for Academic Purposes, Teacher Education as well as preparation for exams including IELTS, FCE, CAE, CPE, BEC and TOEIC. You can choose a programme of ten, fifteen, twenty or twenty-five hours per week of one-to-one intensive tuition (not including independent study time). You can stay and learn with us for any length of time from one week to six months. You have a comfortable single room with study facilities. We provide full board - breakfast, lunch and evening meal (Tammy cooks excellent, healthy dishes from many countries). We offer you an optional twice weekly social/cultural programme to fit your interests. For example, we can accompany you on visits to historical places such as Exeter Cathedral, walks along the Devon World Heritage coastline, sports activities, theatre and cinema trips. We both have a great deal of experience in teaching General English, Business English and preparing students for English Language examinations. We also teach Business English and Communication Skills at the School of Business and Economics, University of Exeter. David is also the author of the bestselling English teaching resource book Spontaneous Speaking: Drama Activities for Confidence and Fluency, DELTA Publishing 2005. He regularly writes for a number of ELT magazines. As well as teaching and teacher training, David is also a professional storyteller and role actor. Tammy specialises in one-to-one teaching. We also provide specialist short courses in other countries.
